Optimism for Pessimists

Ripto's rebel

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!

As much as I loved the gameplay of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, I found its premise to be very confusing. I never knew whose side I was meant to be on. You were basically a wandering mercenary and whoever was the first person to greet you on the other side of a portal, you'd unquestioningly annihilate whomever they picked.

Sure I got rewarded for it, but maybe the inhabitants should pay attention to the fact that if they cannot find a pencil or a diode that is right behind them that they maybe shouldn't mess around with cross-dimensional portals until they have a better grasp on not painting a giant "kick me" sign on their kingdom.

Speaking of rewards, did anyone else find it cheap that most of the inhabitants thanked you by giving you something that they perceived as useless junk?
