One of my favourite quirks of RPG's is their notorious reluctance to add time-pressures. Whilst I fully appreciate the reasoning behind it... it does place the creators in an awkward position when they try to create drama and urgency in a situation that you can ultimately do at your own leisure. They may gasp and point at this super-important threat, but as soon as you call their bluff and ask if you can breed Chocobos or collect trading cards instead... they begrudgingly have to nod and watch you scurry off into the distance.
